Bombacaceae, the bombax or kapok family of flowering trees, are allied closely to the mallow order (Malvaceae.) Characteristic of the tropics, the 27 genera typically have large showy flowers. Nonedible species include the Ceiba and the African Baobab. We feature this family prominently at Rancho Garza.
